Stating this first because it is unusual enough to be worth saying plainly:
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people actually read. It tells us that a Pega 244 page was opened 40 times last month; it does not tell us who opened it, and we make no attempt to identify anyone from it.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to recognise a repeat visit, and Google receives your IP address as part of that. Google truncates it before storing. We do not run Google Ads, we have not enabled advertising or remarketing features, and nothing collected here follows you to other sites.
If you would rather not be counted, any of these works and none of them affects how the site behaves for you:
Two forms on this site ask for information, and both are optional — nothing on the site requires you to identify yourself.
How these actually send. At present both forms open a pre-filled message in your own email program rather than transmitting anything from the page. Nothing reaches us until you press send yourself, from your own email account, and the message travels through your email provider exactly like any other email you write. If this changes to direct submission, this policy will be updated to say so.
The chat window in the corner of the page is provided by Nutshell, our customer relationship management provider, based in the United States. If you start a conversation, what you type is stored in our Nutshell account so we can answer you and pick the conversation back up later. Nutshell sets its own cookies to keep your conversation attached to you between page loads. If you never open the chat, you never send it anything.
Our typefaces are served by Google Fonts. Loading a page therefore requests font files from Google's servers, and Google receives your IP address as part of that request, as it would for any file loaded from another site. We receive nothing from this and we do not use it to identify anyone.
Like effectively every web server, ours keeps standard access logs — IP address, the page requested, the time, and the browser's user-agent string. These are used to keep the site running and secure. We do not use them to build a profile of you.
We use what you send us to answer your question, prepare a quote, or arrange service — nothing else. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we do not share it with anyone except where we are legally required to, or with the service providers named above who need it to do their job.
Enquiries and job records are kept for as long as we have a working relationship with you and for as long afterwards as we need them for warranty, tax, and business records. If you would rather we did not, ask us and we will remove what we are not legally required to keep.
Email mike@turretsleeving.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. We will not make you jump through hoops. Depending on where you live you may have formal rights along these lines — we will honour a reasonable request regardless of where you are.
This site sells industrial machine restoration services. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. There is no mailing list to notify, because we do not run one.
